Where Music Comes to Praise
James Steele started playing saxophone like many young school band students at age 10. Looking back six decades later, his focus has been church music with his wife Esther at the piano, including sacred and classical music. He is also invested as the alto saxophonist in the Washington Saxophone Quartet, now over four decades.

The first album entitled Saxophone in the Sanctuary was recorded with Kurt Kaiser in Texas - a collection of his hymn arrangements and other classical selections suitable for worship.
That was followed by Consolation Prized, predominately hymn arrangements. Both are available as CDs and live streaming services (iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, etc.)
That was followed by Bach & Fourth, a collection of live recordings spanning 40 years at Fourth Presbyterian Church.
Not everyone will add a Christmas album to their limited mix, but we found so many lovely arrangements to fill one that it worked well. Tidings of Comfort and Joy. Our daughter joined us with her violin on three of the selections.
Available on CD and live streaming services (iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, etc.)
When you hear the name Lazarus, what comes to mind?
Informal polling tells me it might be the biblical man Jesus raised from the dead. Secondarily, some say the story of the rich man and Lazarus, a parable, actually taught by Jesus.
This album has a video presentation that does a deep dive into these two men, tells their stories, gives many further soundtracks for study, and even offers questions and comparisons.
Most of the music are premiere recordings drawn from choral and organ works besides new compositions written for saxophone solo or quartet.
Three years in production, 30 years in collecting.
This is a limited production run for those who still own a CD player!
